Creatine is a compound that is made in our bodies, is eaten in our food and can be taken as a dietary supplement. The chemical name for Creatine is methyl guanidine-acetic acid and supplies energy to muscle cells for short bursts of energy (such as lifting weights) via creatine phosphate replenishment of ATP. Creatine is made up of three amino acids - Arginine, Glycine and Methionine, our liver has the ability to combine these three amino acids and make creatine.
